Help wanted :)

I'm looking for help.
I started riding my bike about 4 weeks ago and it's knocking me for six. I've never been an active person so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Cycling seems to mess with my sleep and eating patterns. I'm hungrier than ever and I seem to want to sleep loads. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should be eating?
I don't think I can really sleep much more- I'm in bed by ten and up for work at 7 and I'm only 29 lol.

Also- I attempted the trip to work this morning and as I live in the North East of England it happens to be ALL up hill. I really struggle with hills. Beyond throwing myself at them over and over again is there a way to improve my ability to tackle them? I know it'll come as my fitness level improves (plus I need to remember to breathe) but it's kind of embarrassing when the two guys I'm riding in with are having to stop and wait for me.

Any help received with thanks.

Time is the thing, cycle daily and increase the distance and / or speed progressively over time (weeks or months).

Are you drinking sensibly to avoid dehydration. Can you describe how you feel at the end of a ride ?
