... or new on site or something like that ...

Actually, I've been using MFP for about a month. Tracking what I eat and what exercise I do. Not sure how to open my diary or whatever or how to make those cute little banners that show goals. Can someone point me to where those instructions live? Thanks!

I'm female, 48, need to lose about 20 pounds, have lost 6 so far. Though I've been exercising every day for the past month (yay me!) and working to keep at 1200 net calories (sometimes successfully ...), I'm finding weight loss as 50 approaches to be a b**ch. Anyone else in my same boat?

  • I am a trainer and started using this tool to see if it is something I want to suggest to others. We will see how it goes! 1200 calories a day seems SO LOW to me but I don't know your daily activities. You don't want to continue to decrease your metabolism by not eating enough. I like that you are loosing weight and exercising ~ that is fantastic! Keep up the GREAT WORK.

Oh! It's 1200 NET calories! If I exercise a lot, I get to eat more (yesterday I worked out really hard, which upped my total to almost 2,000) -- 1200 is where I need to be with no exercise in order to lose .7 lbs a week. Nice, slow burn. Right?
