I love doing the Zumba on the play station move, I don't actually have the guts to go to a class to do it. I've heard that 50minutes of intermediate Zumba can burn about 600 calories. I do this every other day on the ps3, does any one know how many calories it burns on the ps3? Must admit I am knackered after wards, I put loads of effort in to it, and sweat loads, plus my face is always on fire haha, love the burn feeling in my abs and legs!!

The only way to know is to get a heart rate monitor. Everyone is different. 600 seems really high though.

That's, what I thought I was shocked to see that it can burn that much! Really does hurt after though due to the amount of effort I put in. I will defo get a heart rate monitor. Unless some one else has one and done the Zumba on the ps3 move?

I got an HRM at Academy for about $40. Sportline I think. Some days I put in more effort than others. I have gotten anywhere from 680 to just over 800 depending on my level of effort. The instructions said the more frequently you check the heart rate the more accurate it is. I do a reading when we start, after every song and after we finish the last song.

I am betting that once you get one, if you are putting in that much effort, you will be surprised that you are actually burning more than you thought. I estimated 600 the first time I did it and was surprised after I got the HRM that my first total was 740.

If you don't want to invest in an HRM, 600 seems safe.

Thank you very much for your info, I think I will get a HRM just so I can actually see what I'm achieving! Makes you feel more better about yourself then :-D
