MFP has my sodium 'goal' at 2500 a day. This sounds really high...

is it right? or is it better to have a lower goal like 1500?

I think its always good to have a lower goal of sodium...that stuff is not good for you. I am addicted to sunflower seeds and had to cut back because of the sodium count. Personally I think grams of fiber, carbs, healthy fat and protein are good for you on your goals but I would assume you can always cut back on sodium.

I thought it was supposed to be "under 2400" but MFP isn't the only site that uses the 2500 number.

This article says 1500 if you have blood pressure issues, but under 2400 for everyone else:

Hmm... ok I'll try to keep it lower than the 2500 then. Thanks!

I don't think it is so much a 'goal' as a 'make sure you don't go above this'...I am rarely close to 2000...but if you eat a lot of processed foods, it is easy to have well above the 2500 number.
