    whaaaat??? lol
  • I would think a nap would prevent skin sagging, because if you need sleep, it is healthy to get it. It is my understanding that we heal most when we sleep, as long as we aren't over sleeping too much. I'd think that would include damage to connective tissues in our skin too. So, if you need a nap, take a nap. You'll be healthier and look better for it.

No, don't be concerned. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Being fat causes a double chin, not napping. Snooze away!

Well duh. If you sleep on your back with a pillow behind your head, it causes your chin to touch your chest, so yes. You will get a double chin if you sleep like that.

I'm going on The Machinist diet. No sleep for a year, and I too can be thin!

Like totally! How do they not know these things?! They don't sleep with pillows in Ethiopia. Have you ever seen a fat Ethiopian?

so you think it is the sleeping position? Humm.
I know I used to nap a lot in high school and I never got a double chin back then.
  • Hehe, this made me laugh. Thank you :)

No, it also comes down to head position. Your chest and head cannot touch. If your neck is perfectly straight, then a nap is okay and there is no fear of a double chin.

I have been lifting heavy and eating a bit more too and it's not always that I want to nap. I guess I will be fine.

If anyone else takes napes, please post if you have a double chin and whether you are over weight or not. Ty for responses by the way, I appreciate the support :flowerforyou:

If you sleep with your chin touching your chest you will likely wake up with a seriously stiff neck, but it won't cause a double chin. How could it? There would be no room for fat to suddenly grow in that cramped space while your sleeping (even if fat did accumulate in that matter, which, of course, it doesn't)

could this be more genetic? or do people believe that there is something we do that could cause a double chin?

lol!! I'm in, lets do this!! so everyone else thinks this is ridiculous. I am trying to figure out how to formulate a good argument so I don't get jumped for napping any more.

How about "prove it." If they come to you with empirical data, they win. The burden of proof is on the one making the claim.

some of them have double chins and they say it's cause they napped in the after noon at some point. It's hard to argue with people who just don't make sense!!

    Never a truer word spoken!
I would just laugh it off and ask them to explain exactly how that works. They won't be able to since it's utter crap, lol

You got that right. Because it's completely illogical.
