TUNA: drained vs. in water

Hello all,

I get confused when tracking this on my diary...the can of tuna, unopened with water, is 5oz

when it's drained, is that 2oz? it seems like a lot of water if it's 3oz worth

I don't have a scale, so I just want to double check, if anyone here has had this figured out

You're weighing the can along with the tuna and water?

I count it as 150 cals for the whole container (5oz), drained. I don't think draining the water off will reduce much of anything except the sodium.

    Speaking of this...

The tuna I buy is called Chicken of the Sea...
Should I log it as Chicken or Tuna?

    I'm so confused.

Is your last name Simpson? lol

I'm pretty sure the weight of the tuna itself is normally 4oz. It's 2 servings per can, can is 5 oz so 1 oz is water, 4 oz tuna.

Actually, come to think of it. Doesn't a standard can of tuna have two servings of two ounces each?

I put 5 oz as I always drain tuna water into a cup and then drink tuna water it is full of nutrients right?
