No, I'm not thinking of changing careers to become a personal trainer but I would like to learn more about the physiology of exercise etc but there seems to be a dizzying array of certification bodies out there.
This may be a bit of a weird question but are there really significant differences in the content of the courses and quality of instruction between the various certification agencies? I'm looking for quality, not the lowest cost.

Yes, definitely. Per my trainer friends, ACSM is generally regarded as the highest quality.0
