How does one lose 15 pounds in a week? There is only so much time that one can spend in the gym. Taking into consideration that they eating the bare minimum and have no outside stress of normal lives. That's a little excessive I think.

What do you all think?

I have heard supposedly this is more over 2-3 weeks, and they condense it to appear like a week?

It's an extreme way to lose weight. It's a competition and some people are willing to do what it takes to win, be on TV, etc.

i just don't think it is safe or realistic. apparently they workout about 8 hours a day or more and eat clean and lower calories. the thing is what they are doing is not sustainable. so they may reach their goals during the show, but then they all have to learn how to live the lifestyles we are all learning by being part of mfp. they will re-enter reality and their day to day lives- what is preparing them for that? also they are all supervised by a medical team as they go through it in a way that us on mfp are not. anyone who tries to this outside of a ranch like setting is just not thinking straight in my opinion.

I don't often watch it but I've always thought it was somewhat unrealistic simply because how can they expect to maintain this level of activity later.
Just one extreme boot camp.....doesn't really work for life surely.
Having said that, good on them for working so hard and I expect they gain a lot of knowledge and understanding about their own bodies and health in general along the way so hopefully they are able to carry on after the show.
Having caught the 'gym' bug I could actually imagine now what a kick it might be to have nothing else to consider for weeks on end other than self improvement.....work outs included. It would be a fantastic opportunity ~ except for the nation watching every move!!!!!
