I get so upset about this... I want my legs to NOT touch in the middle of my thighs!! I want to wear skinny jeans and not look dumpy :( I can get into UK 10's (just) however I'd still say i LOOK a lot bigger on my bottom half. How can I slim down my legs? I'm doing the 30DS and am on day 4, definitely feeling it in my legs but i REALLY want to make them smaller and slender :(

It will come with time, you just have to keep at it. The lower your body fat the better your legs will look. Do some squats too. :)

I have the same problem - the last place I ever lose weight is on my thighs. I am size 8/10 so don't want to lose much more weight. I have been doing x-bike clasees for the last 6 months (3-4 a week) and that has toned my legs a lot. I asked the instructor what else I could do and she recommeded 5 minutes using weights after each class. I also use a vibration plate to do squats and lunges. I have dropped 1/2 and inch on each thigh in the last few weeks and hope to lose another 1 inch eventually.

You cant spot reduce areas, the best you can do is weight training to tone the muscle and reduce body fat, also cycling and running, dont think ive ever seen a cyclist or runner with fat legs! Also building up your shoulders / upper body will ballance out your bottom half and make you more 'hourglass' shaped.

Even then you might not get the 'thigh gap', thats mostly down to genetics and the distance / angle of your hip joints, some people will never have it no matter how thin they get, im the same shape and even at 9 stone / size 10 I had chunky thighs!
As a pear shape you will have a fabulous waist though, so dont worry too much about your thighs, and dress to draw attention to your best bits x

Awww thanks guys! This is kind of embarrasing but the reason i want a gap n my legs so much is i tend to find in the summer when i'm hot, if i'm wearing a dress and bare legs, they rub together and et sore. I'm not fat enough to feel like I should get friction burns from my own legs!! But I REALLY want to go bare legged and not have my legs touch!

just my opinion, but i love skinny jeans on pears. <3 i hated skinny jeans until i saw pears wearing them, then loved them. lucky for me since i am really pear-ish, hahaha.

umm, okay, well i found that just decreasing the bodyfat% removes a lot of the emphasis of our peariness. for pears like me who are fat-pears and muscle-pears, i do not know what can be done.

I'm an hourglass, so I can't totally relate (although, I have no problem if I never have the thigh gap).

For some people, the "thigh gap" just isn't possible. I have a friend who lost a LOT of weight, is a pear and looks mega hot in skinny jeans, but her thighs will just always touch. She was having some big problems with that, to the point that I was worrying about her health (over-exercising and under-eating- we went away together to get my wedding dress in another country, and I was shocked at how little she ate and how much she exercised). After realizing that it's just not going to happen, she was much more happy with herself. Maybe it will happen to you, but if it doesn't, don't ride all your success on it!

I recently told my husband about our "thigh gap" desires as women- and he thought it was the most ridiculous thing he ever heard.

Just lose the fat and you won't look so big on the bottom half.

I'm a pear, and my hips/butt shrank through a calorie deficit, incline walking and lifting heavy weights... but my thighs still touch. Don't rub together but they def. touch and I don't have any issues.
