SBF2: Reboot Boogaloo! June 13th

How is it that June is almost half over? Seriously, how?
Today is a cardio day. I've been lax on my cardio (though I've managed to do my yoga sessions as planned) this week due to craziness, and rationalization that walking all over campus and fighting with people in twenty different offices is cardio. (it's probably not.)
I'll probably go to the gym and visit the elliptical (it's been about a hundred years)but I have to wait for my antihistamine to take effect so that I can leave the house. Blergh. Allergies.
Take care, my pebbs.:flowerforyou:

Yesterday the elliptical was ok on my ankle, so that will happen again. I was stressed over the job offer yesterday, so I didn't get yoga in - so I need to do that today as well.
I decided not to take the job. I'm the only sub my teacher has, and I owe it to her to be free during that time period. So two for two as far as the job offers go, sigh. I'll have enough teaching in July (5 classes a week), to get my fill.
Today is going to be 100 degrees - with a heat index of 107. June and September can be really bad months in southern Texas. June because it's so humid and September because everyone else thinks that it's fall. July and August are hot as expected. I checked the weather for California - almost 30 degrees cooler - I'll have to bring my winter clothes

Mary,
Yesterday I was walking home from the subway, and the whole time I was thinking "jeez. . .it's so hot." I was actually sweating . . .I got home and it was (wait for it) 68 degrees outside. 68.
I've turned into an amateur being up north for so long.0 -
Yes, hello summer. I knew Thursday would be the last day for a while that I could go out for a run after 1 oclock (75* because of the storms).
We went swimming this morning. My calves are sore from working out yesterday, so it felt good. I guess I burned a few calories. I have to clean up (again) and shampoo the carpets because I am guessing the cat went on the floor somewhere. :grumble: We have company coming over tomorrow I think. I may not burn many cals today. We also have a prayer meeting to go to tonight.
Oh and I stepped on the stupid scale again this morning. I don't know why I do that! But I lost a pound. So I've lost two pounds and about 2.5-3 inches in two weeks? I think it's two weeks. Progress will really be when I get back into the 140's. I'm just losing the same 2-3 pounds over again right now.
I'd better get to work. It looks like I am all alone in my cleaning.
Swimming make anyone else hungry? Sheesh! lol

Good Morning!
We are in the thick of the June gloom here but I like it -- I really don't like hot hot weather at all.
Last night I did a LIVE CHAT following Whale Wars. It was nervewracking!! People were writing in and asking me all kinds of stuff about the show. In case any of you missed the show, you can watch the full episode online here:
http://animal.discovery.com/videos/whale-wars-the-sound-of-ice-full-episode.html
I FINALLY went to yoga yesterday and it was great. A whole class of hip openers.
Today:
~ 45 minutes of cardio -- might bike to the stairs or save that for tomorrow
~ Clean the house
~ Trying a date without drinking...
~ Vitamins!0 -
MM - there is this stuff called Petzeme that you can get at a petstore - it's worth every single penny. You can get the big gallon one and put it in a spray bottle for about $3 a bottle. Swimming, and sometimes yoga, makes me very hungry.
WL - must be hip week - we did a class of those on Thurs.0 -
That was awesome, WL! Those guys are some crazy ******
We saw Peter Brown one time in Canada, I think. He was wearing a Sea Sheppard shirt - and my husband pointed out that "how many people would wear a Sea Sheppard shirt"?
We plan on going whale watching in Santa Barbara - maybe even see blue whales - what do those guys think of whale watching?0 -
Awesome, WL, thanks for the link - I will watch the episode for sure later tonight!
Today I am just trying to figure out what the heck I need to do before we leave for vacation on Monday. I think I am headed out to get some shorts and some iPod accessories while hubby does laundry. I would like to get some running shoes, but I don't think I have time today. Probably no exercise other than shopping and cleaning - but I did finish week 2 of the pushup program again, so I will be testing either tonight or tomorrow to see what level I should do in week 3. I'm not sure what other sort of exercise I'll be able to get while we're there - we are hoping to go hiking to some waterfalls at least one day, and as long as it isn't raining I'm sure we'll go walking every day.
I need to find a yoga class that I can actually make it to. I'm not good about practicing at home - the cats always get really interested in what I'm doing and get in my way.I checked the weather for California - almost 30 degrees cooler - I'll have to bring my winter clothes
Summertime boogaloo...0 -
Oi. Our hot water heater is leaking.:noway: Why does this stuff happen on weekends? I'd better get my shower in so DH can turn the valves off.
Somehow I've managed to burn quite a few calories today but I'm still liable to go over. darn burgers! Homemade too.
I'm a little cranky. Can you tell?

The guys LOVE that people go whale watching, because it makes people realize what amazing animals whales are. Lots of people find that they have a "special connection" to the whales when they see them in person, and then those are the same people who want to take action when they find out that whaling is still going on.
And personally, I had never gone whale watching (guess I sort of jumped right to the ultimate whale watching experience...lol) so I was completely amazed by them when I saw them in Antarctica. Would LOVE to see blue whales some day...0
