    Mmmmmm . . . bacon

Some people say that bacon's reign as food, topping, flavoring, clothing, accessory, and scent supreme is done . . . what do you think?

I say those people are lametastic and clearly have issues.

    *grabs bacon and chows down*

I'm a weirdo and I don't really like bacon that much. Sure, I like a sandwich occasionally, but I eat it very infrequently. I've never really liked it, even when I was a kid with horrendous eating habits. I actually preferred turkey bacon after trying it, because it's so much less greasy. Even turkey bacon I don't love either.

I will say, I do love asparagus wrapped in bacon and grilled. That's probably my favorite way the eat bacon.

To each their own, and I respect your food choices and preferences.

Nah.. DOWN WITH THE BACON-HATING INFIDEL!!!!

    (grin)

That only happened to turkey bacon. Regular bacon is still King!

Bacon could never jump the shark. The shark would eat it while it is in mid-air, because bacon is so delicious.

    ^^^^
    This!

I have an emotional connection with bacon that my church would consider an extra marital affair.... *shame*

They recently opened a restaurant here simply called "Bacon."

So many different kids of bacon, bacon inspired dishes, breakfasts, lunches, dinners...it's heaven.

I need to head to Austin, if only for this ^^^^ reason

Almost without exception, the "lapsed" vegetarians I know say that bacon is what turned them. Not steak, beef, hamburgers or anything else. Bacon.

    Enough said.

I guess I'm different. I would much rather have steak, cheesecake, beer, and a myriad of other things instead of bacon.

Back in my party days, before the days of Gatorade (I think) the hangover cure at my house was fry up a pound of bacon and get hydrated. God, it was SO good!

agreed! Things that are better with bacon:
    sandwiches-hey, it's called a "B"lt, not a Tlb, folks.
    tomato soup
    pizza
bath bubbles (according to my sons)
    salads
    sushi rolls
martinis (apparently, according to this thread-must try this! hey it it works for olives...)
vegetables (see last item-another must try)
    ice cream
    baked chicken
    tuna with mac and cheese

only thing I haven't tried that comes in a strong second-coffee. Must see how these two combine...any willing testers out there? I've had my cups for the day.

I think "jumped the shark" has jumped the shark...
You are correct. The correct term now is "nuked the fridge".

But why Instead of bacon? Why not WITH bacon? Steak, beer, and myriads are all better with bacon. We've stated that. Cheesecake is certainly worth the test.

I've recently heard about bacon flavored vodka. Would make an interesting bloody mary.

Also, I think Burger King has a bacon milkshake that they just put on the menu.

I couldn't care less whether bacon is fashionable. It's an amazing food for some of us. It tastes great and isn't insane on calories.

Homer Simpson quote - “When you’re in my house you shall do as I do and believe who I believe in. So Bart, butter your bacon.”

We have it every Sunday for breakfast.

In Homer voice - "mmmmmmmmm bacon"
