In the above referenced website, it answers some of the questions about Kobe Beef. It also says that Kobe Beef is not exported out of Japan until recently, and only to Macao.

So, that Kobe Beef you see at your local store, isn't
Those expensive Kobe steaks touted at the expensive steak houses, aren't.

Because the U'S doesn't recognize other Countries' trademarks, anyone can call their beef Kobe. What the heck?
