    sponge cake - 1 piece (1/12 of a 16 oz cake): 110 cals
Jam is usually measured per tbsp. and is about 50 cals
cream - like custard? It would probably be the same... about 50 cals
buttercream frosting/icing is gonna run you about 150-200 cals for 3 tbsp. (enough to cover a slice of cake)

Safe to bet about 400 cals, I'd say. My b-day's coming up on Friday and I know hubby is going to bring me a mini cake that's about 2 slices worth (I'm gonna make him eat the other half haha!) and I'll probably bank about 500 cals for it myself.

    Hope that helps!

I agree with CinJay, just break it down & get to the best guess you can.

My husband's birthday was on Sunday, and we hit upon a pretty good way to deal with the cake end of things. Normally, I would bake him a cake...but this year, we went out to dinner & ordered a slice of cake to split later when we got home & were in our jammies on the couch. It was awesome. No guilt, lots of chocolate, and some birthday snuggles. Good stuff.

All of those things are individually in the food data base. Since you can't find them as a whole, search for the components.
