Pulled hamstring, need advice!

Anyone have tips or advice on pulled hamstring? I pulled the upper one that's attached just below the buttocks. Yes, it is a real pain in the *kitten*. I was playing basketball and had just made a perfect fast-break, and half-way down the court, I felt it pop, I think I even heard it.

I know I need to do the RICE thing while it heals, but I don't know when I can get back into my exercise routine. I do cardio/step classes, yoga and basketball. My fear is that since I cannot exercise for now, that I will gain weight or lose the momentum I have in my exercise plan. Anyone out there had a similar injury? I'd love to hear from you, and if you're interested, I could use more friends. Send me a request :~)

    I felt it pop,

    Popping can be very bad. My friends gf heard a popping noise while playing tennis and the A.T. tendon in her foot broke and like a rubber band went up her leg.

    Maybe you should get advice from a doc if its painful and let him tell you when you can get back into your routine.
