afternoon slump cures?

I'm finding within the past couple weeks that I'm starting to fall into an afternoon slump around 2 or 3. If I drink a diet soda or hot chocolate I perk up and do better. I don't want to become reliant on caffine. Any ideas for an afternoon pick me up (preferrably low calorie) in drink or snack form? I'm lactose intolerant so no milk products. Thanks!

I will drink tea instead with a splash of almond milk. I do try to have a snack around 3:30ish, usually some nuts, popcorn and raisins or an apple with peanut butter and pretzels (not really low cal...but enought to give me a boost til dinner). :)

Always need more caffeine about 2:30ish. Can't seem to get past it otherwise. Sometimes chocolate will help, but I think that's more sugar than anything else! I use a small amount of Mio energy in a half liter of water, usually picks me right up without a lot of caffiene.

I always had this really bad as well, could just about set my watch to it.

May not be what you want to hear but when I got off grains it disappeared. I think my blood sugar is kept at a more constant level througout the day.
