Fast food salad is so tricky. We've got a hometown restuarant that has a southwest chicken salad on special that i wanna try. Of course they aren't going to offer any nutritional info since they aren't a chain.

It is Salad Greens, Grilled Chicken, Corn, Black Beans, & Tortilla Chip Strips

I found this --- > Homemade - Southwest Salad With Grilled Chicken, 1 salad - 11.8 0z (335 g)

Cals: 240 Fat: 13

Do you think this would be close?!?

I am going to order my dressing on the side and add in nutriental content serpately ...

TIA :glasses:

Can you call the resteraunt and ask them the portion sizes of the individual items? You can then create your own recipe here and might come closer than guessing

My only concern would be the sodium.

It's sounds okay. The chip stripes aren't helping. As long as the salad dressing is decent, don't be too worried about it.

You could check mcdonalds to see how theirs compares.

I would base mine off of Panera bread's grilled chicken salads, which are probably pretty close.

Here is one that is very similar that I eat at Panera Bread:
Chopped Romaine Lettuce, Tri-Color Tortilla Strips, Fire Roasted Southwestern Corn Blend, Citrus and Pepper Chicken

    330 calories, 10g fat, 1 g saturated fat, 290mg sodium, 37g carbs, 6g fiber, 4g sugar, 31g protein.

If you go onto paneranutrition.com, you can customize any of their salads for more accurate calorie counts.

    Hope this helped!

290 sodium is actually really good.

I'm betting the fast food type place
is using canned corn, canned black
beans, and seasoning on the chicken
is probably loaded with it. 0.02

There is nothing from a fast food restaurant you should ever put into your body (except water or coffee). That food is so genetically modified and loaded with chemicals. Not to mention, most salads from fast food restaurents have the same amount of calories as the burgers!

I had a salad at Wendy's the other day.
It was 70 calories, 0 fat, 190 in sodium.
That was with Fat Free Raspberry Vinaigrette.
    (1 packet)

That said, I also had a single with no cheese plain.
I added my own ketchup, so I could monitor how
much was put on. It was only 290 calories, 5 fat,
    but the sodium was 470.

I still came below my goals at the end of the day.
