Happy Flag Day. Not really sure what Flag Day is or what it celebrates.

Got a good elliptical and yoga session in yesterday - did have chocolate with strawberries and raspberries for afternoon snack - it kept me full for a surprisingly long time.

I went to a party where I didn't know anyone but the host - felt uncomfortable and tried to use the big spread on the kitchen table as a way to get into conversations (had 2 cookies, one good, one ok, and some dip and crackers). There was always that advantage to smoking - smokers could strike up a conversation with any other smoker - and if it fell flat, you just smoked. I was glad to leave.

Today, I may go check out the yoga class that I'm always subbing on Sunday mornings. I've never met the teacher - and my cats don't allow me to sleep in any more.

May have to go get a pet thermometer - one guy has been sneezing a lot. :grumble:

Stay cool boogaloo!

Mary

    Today is Bikram at 4.

I'm noticing that when I completely eliminate wheat, and really cool it on grains in general, I'm less hungry. I just read an article that claimed that wheat does not trigger satiety chemicals in our bodies, which I think is true for me, as if I'm having bread I can just keep eating bread. (also, I have to eat enormous servings of fruit and veg. to hit my calorie target, so that could be part of it.) This coming Friday, I'm actually going to weigh myself (first time in over a month). I'm trying to get to the point where I can view the scale as a tool, and not a crazy-maker. :noway:

The forecast is calling for thunderstorms this afternoon. I'm a fan of thunderstorms, they remind me of my Florida childhood. Also, the rain helps keep the pollen out of my nose and eyes and throat, which is a big plus.

    Take care of yourselves boogaloo.:flowerforyou:

Oh and Mary, I hate those kinds of parties. I like small gatherings where I actually know people. I have been known to turn down the odd invitation due to fear of social anxiety induced overeating. (but that's my neurosis. )

Busy day here. It's finally settling down a bit. We have hot water again. I told you all about the hot water heater leaking right? The guys replaced it this morning. Now I have to go wash the dishes.
Alex was up crying twice last night, so we are kind of tired today.
I'm going to put Alex down for a nap, work on my Russian, relax, and then I might go for a walk later...if it cools off enough. Today is a lazy day. I like lazy days. Then tomorrow the chaos starts again. lol
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

OK - I just got back from work and I am now officially ready for vacation! Well, not quite - I should probably pack.

Wow, WL! We watched both episodes of Whale Wars that were online as of last night ('Sound of Ice' and 'Flexibility of Steel') - that was crazy. It is astonishing to me that they would go down there in a ship not rated for ice!! I turned to my husband during the second episode and said, "It sounds like a three-month panic attack interrupted by brief periods of chronic anxiety." :noway: I am now even more amazed (and grateful!) that you made it through such an experience safely.

MM - glad you got your water heater fixed up. Mary & V - I am the same way at parties. I am not terribly outgoing and definitely have a tendency to end up near the food table if I'm uncomfortable. :ohwell:

We are headed out to Oregon tomorrow morning. My goal is to be at least a little bit active (walk/hike every day that we aren't traveling) and keep my eating reasonable. I am also going to write down the pushup schedule for the week and get those in as well. I'll try and check in once or twice, but otherwise - have a great week!!

You have to let us know when a new episode is available!
