I started on MFP on the 6th Jan this year and today, 105 days (15 weeks) later, I have lost 20kgs (44lb’s). When I am ready, I will post a couple of pics of myself
I owe this weight loss to a number of factors:
* The ongoing and invaluable advice from my doctor and nutritionist.
* Eating an extremely balanced meal plan with tons of fresh vegetables and lean meat. ie. Nutrient-filled calories are critical.
* Log absolutely everything and be honest with yourself.
* Choose unrefined over refined foods.
* Get into the kitchen and make your own delicious meals.
* Avoid processed, ready made meals which contain vast amounts of hidden wheat, sugars, fats and sodium.
* Finding an exercise plan that works for you and is easily sustainable.
* Re-educate our bodies and our minds to proper portion control by weighing everything and making the right, healthy* choices.
* Yes, have a little dark chocolate to satisfy the craving.
* Understanding that we are all human with human frailties and learn patience.
* Understand that what works for one person may not work for you. Learn what your body needs and feed that need.
* … and by no means least, drink water – it has so many health benefits!
The unbelievable support and friendship of my really special MFP pals continues to inspire and motivate me every day. My heartfelt thanks go to each and every one of them.
I am almost halfway to my ultimate goal and for the first time in many years, I know I will get there!

Your diary always puts a smile on my face. You have inspired me no end and I feel I have actually packed my suitcase for my journey with all the right mental positivity to actually make a difference for me this time.
