Weightlifting advice...

Hey I pretty much just RE-started my weight loss journey and have really been enjoying MFP and the support especially in the "Community" section...Based on alot of stories I've read...there seem to be some merit in weightlifting to speed up the weight loss process so I'm thinking of joining the gym this weekend and starting off with some weights...I wanna try it for the next month to see what kinda results I'll get...good motivation because I have a big wedding coming up exactly a month from today.

I'll appreciate any advice on how often, what kind of weights, how much I should lift...and what kind of results I can expect in a month? By the way, I'm 5'7...very curvy (small waist, large hips and butt)...and about 210lbs...thanks!
