Vacation Express or Fax Machine Vacations

Has anyone ever used Vacation Express or any other vacation company that you receive advertisements & special deals from over your business fax machine? I am in the process of planning my wedding and want to go somewhere cool on my honeymoon instead of the normal local beach that everyone in the Carolinas go. I started noticing these ads coming across the fax and just wonder if anyone has ever actually utilized them and what their experience was like.

Thanks so much!!

If I ever find out who keeps wasting my fax paper and ink with that crap, they're gonna get it!

On a more serious note, i would be very skeptical about those offers... if you have to resort to spamming peoples fax machines and wasting their money to advertise your services, something has to be wrong.

Agreed - be VERY careful with this kind of thing. Just remember that if something seems too good to be true - it probably is!

My best suggestion - sign up for newsletters from travel booking companies (like Wotif for example) and airlines from places you'd lilke to visit, and be ready to jump on any one-day specials they are advertising. But agin, read the conditions s carefully, usually these super specials are non- refundable.

I booked a tax only fare ($80 return per person) to Malaysia for my honeymoon - I just stumbled on this one-day deal and booked it on the spot and worked out the rest of the details later.

Also, when you are booking hotels, it is usually worth looking on their direct web site or calling them to ask if they have any special honeymoon deals - most places will give you something for free - it might be wine or chocolates or you might get a free room upgrade if you're lucky.
