Need Some Guidance and Motivation...

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to diet forever. I have been on Weight Watchers, then I jump back to MFP. If I don't see results, then I give up.
But this time is different. I really need to lose 40lbs. I am 4'7 and 40lbs over weight. That is a lot for someone my height. Because I am so short, MFP is starting me at 1200 calories to lose 0.03-0.05lbs a week. I am trying to learn everything from my BMR to my TDEE. I just want to know what I need to put in and what I need to burn off. I think I am rethinking about numbers, numbers, numbers to much. What can I do to stay on it this time. I really want to do it... Any friends will help and guidance would
be appreciated. Thanks.
