Why do it then?
You don't actually need to detox your system as your liver and kidneys will detox what they can, and whatever they can't detox, isn't going to magically go away from drinking soup or blending up veggies.0 -
i think the best way to detox ur body is to drink a lot of water, it naturally cleans out ur system. Im not saying dont detox, im just saying if u havent even started and ur not looking forward to it its not something that has to be done to lose weight. i've lost 71 pounds and never done a detox. I drink lots of water adn stay away from processed food, oh and working out is a good way to detox bc sweating gets out a lot of those toxins to. Good luck!0

Soup can't remove toxins. Sorry.
If you have been exposed to a potential toxic substance, I suggest calling your local poison control immediately.0 -

^^^^ Agree with this.
Detox? About the best you could hope for is fast for 24 hours and drink plenty of water and let the body do what it does naturally. Or, just eat healthy and drink water.0 -

Exactly. The only exception I would see is if there is something wrong with your liver or kidneys. I have issues with mine and I have had to do a liver detox, but even then, I ate food, I just had to take some supplements and drink a protein powder specifically for liver detox that my dr gave me.
Just drink lots of water, eat good healthy unprocessed foods and you are good to go0 -
Never tried it. I'm not at the point yet where things are so easy that I need to handicap myself.0
-
The best detox out there is eating clean and drinking water! Fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, whole grains and plenty of water is a lot more pleasant than any detox I've ever heard of. No horrible tasting stuff to drink/eat and you can get the same results with much cheaper items!0
-
You know what is AWESOME about the human body? It has this thing called a LIVER, and these other things called KIDNEYS, that do a pretty fantastic job of "detoxing" without any crazy soup.0
-
I'm curious. How do you detox your body by eating soup? What chemical process do you think is occurring here? What toxins do you think you are eliminating?0
-
Never heard of it. Let me know how that goes for ya! Does it make you poop alot?
Apparently it does. It is basically each day you focus on one food group. A day of all fruits & plenty of water minus bananas. A day of all veggies & plenty of water. A day of bananas & skim milk & plenty of water. Then the wonder soup is made up of water, salt, pepper, cabbage, celery & onion. It has to be eaten once per day for 7 days. And of course the fruits and veggies must be fresh and you can boil them, bake them or do a stir fry. No sugars unless they are natural from the food you are eating. No caffeine. You can have fruit juice as long as it is 100% fruit juice, but this is only on the fruit day. You can have veggie juice the same way on veggie day. I don't think it is going to be that bad, but I do think that soup is going to be disgusting.0 -

Is there some sort of scientific evidence I missed? What toxins are purged? How does it work?0

Here is a quick run down of the daily stuff:
Day 1 - Fruits. All fruits are allowed except for bananas. Fruit is a natural way to normalize the body & prepare it for upcoming days of the diet. Fruits have multiple benefits - they are fat free & low in calories compared to other foods most of us normally eat. Fruits also flush out the system thereby enhancing enhancing the detox process.
Day 2 - Vegetables. Either stir-fry or salads. Start the day with one baked or boiled potato to make up for the loss of energy from day one. Upto one teaspoon of olive oil can be used as salad dressing today.
Day 3 - Fruits & vegetables - as much as you want. No bananas and no potatoes. Day 3 is an effective way of combining days 2 and 3 and getting the benefits of both days. Your body chemistry is changing because you are not getting any refined carbohydrates, saturated fats, excessive sodium and artificial flavour enhancers and additives. Your body is getting completely natural nutrition - which will optimize the weight loss process.
Day 4 - Bananas and milk. You can eat up to 8 bananas and 3 glasses of skim milk to restore potassium levels. Day 4 is mean to make up for the reduced levels of calcium (from milk), potassium (from bananas) and carbohydrates and fiber (from bananas). Although you are allowed to have 8 bananas today, you might not have the craving to eat them all.
Day 5 - Protein and tomatoes. You can have a piece of meat/fish either grilled or baked for lunch and dinner with tomatoes. Today is the day to make up for all the protein in your system. The meat will give you protein and if you consume fish, you will get your share of Omega 3 Fatty acids which do wonders for health. The tomatoes give you fiber and minerals - in particular lycopene which is a super-food for the human body. Eating the tomatoes will also aid in flushing out the system.
Day 6 - Protein and vegetables. Same as day 5 except, add more vegetables in either salad or stir-fry form. Day 6 is a lot like day 5 - only that you need to eat as many vegetables instead of restricting yourself to tomatoes.
Day 7 - Fruits, vegetables and juices. Consume an assortment of fruits, vegetables & fruit juices. Half a cup of brown rice is optional - but not recommended. You are now on the last day of your diet.
With this you are to drink 8 glasses of water per day and exercise. Absolutely no caffeine or alcohol.0 -
This is absolutely ridiculous and I'm not saying this to be mean.0

Depending on exactly what toxin, and how much was ingested, you could be dead before you finish this detox.0 -

I didn't ingest anything toxic. They mean the crappy stuff in our foods.0 -

Totally don't think that you are being mean. You are just being honest. This is something that my fiancee found and suggested that we both do next week. She is trying to be supportive of me and drop a few pounds herself. I just wanted to bounce it off of y'all to see if anyone else had done it & thoughts about it.0 -

The instructions themselves admit that there will be a loss of energy. Why would you want that? Instead of going with a complicated gimmick, how about just planning some healthy, balanced meals? It doesn't have to be hard.0 -

Oh I see. I'm sure you can understand the confusion..
Anyway, the decrap (let's be specific here) you've listed is totally unnecessary. All you really need to do is eat a balanced diet, a reasonable calorie deficit if you wish to lose weight, and be sure to stay hydrated. Your pooper should expel all the crap on its own. Good luck!0
