Okay so I'm going on a two week trip for school. So we have our Rome portion covered and also most of Venice but I'd thought I'd ask you guys. You been to any of these places, or live there? What should I see? I'll be in Brno, Vienna, Venice, and Rome! Help, thanks. . , now I'll go Google lol

Ok real guide....tourist stuff in in the books!

Venice is an amazingly magical place, but hard work if busy :) You will walk miles! The Grand Canal will smell and you will pay $10 for a coffee in St Marks square, about the same for a gondola ride and get attitude! Oh and you have to pay to use any public restrooms, but they are wonderfully clean...

In the lagoon the islands of Murano and Burano, <yes true story!> are rich in history and Murano is where they make some of the world’s best glass..it really is amazing!

Arrive with an open mind...relax....take care of your belongings....and its wonderful!

    GO!!!!!

Nice list! Just let yourself sink in into the atmosphere! Venice AND Rome are pricy, but you can always find a place to eat or drink off the main tourist strips. ACTUALLY some of the best foot I tried while there was in the non touristy areas! It was nothing but a real genuine Italian home meal.

No Tuscany??? :) One of the most beautiful places on earth with those rolling hills! (So is Amalfi Coast though)

    I LOVE Rome!
Eat at La Carbonara in Campo di Fiori one night.
The water from the water fountains along the streets is clean and soooo good (carry an empty bottle for refills).
Then there's the obvious: St. Peter's Square, The Vatican Museum, St. Paul Outside the Wall, St. Peter in Chains, Scala Santa, Trevi Fountain, Campo de Fiori, Piaza Narvona.........just to name a few.

    Have fun!

    Agreed
Venice is worth going once - do the touristy thing and then you don't have to go back.

Vienna - beautiful place worth the wander around - don't spend more than a day or two - when are you going? you might want to look into the festivals they have going on in the springtime - also Shonbrunn (sp) palace is pretty - pack a picnic and enjoy

Rome - awesome place - sounds like you know what you are doing there.

If you go with a loved one, yeah I know it's a school trip  enjoy the pianist in St Marks square....the music at sunset is breathtakingly perfect and it's the closest you'll come to a physical manifestation of romance....

I LOVE Italy! To date it is my favorite place. Venice is actually fairly small, so you will be able to cover all of it by walking around. You will have to take a Gondola and visit the Grand Canal. Rome is amazing; you'll have to visit the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain. You'll be close to the Vatican City, so make sure to take a tour. The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica are amazing. I know you are not going to Florence, but if you happen to make it there please go see David. That statue was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I have tons of pics from my trip (and some pointers), so message me if you are interested.

    Enjoy!!!!
