Serious question on food

I'm not complaining about slow weight loss or anything, but I want to make sure that what I do now makes me the person I want to be. So what are the general rules one what you should yet, carbs, protein, fat and sugar. plenty of people have said that the calculators are way off on here but I get seriously varying ideas on what is correct. Clarification please?

    I feel like MFP is pretty close for general weight loss. When it comes to fat loss or building muscle then there are ways to adjust your goals to better meet those needs.
