Lately I have been doing light exercise and I'll do good for a week and then get tired of it and start getting unmotivated. It would be a lot easier to have someone losing weight with me...
So, curious about what you guys do. How much do you exercise?

I have sort of the opposite problem. I'm always going and tend to burn out really quickly and need forced rest days so I don't make myself sick. I do heavy lifting (Stronglifts 5x5), running, cycling and recreational sports just about every day of the week. I'm the most consistent with sports and lifting, but I try to get out on the road as much as I can too.

Have you heard of a website called Fitocracy? In some cases it can serve as a nice little motivator and support network if you don't have access to any IRL. I log all my workouts on there and everyone's very supportive of each other.

I'd try and find something you really enjoy doing. For me, it took finding a great social sports league that I could get involved in before I got serious about working out (I was a Division I college athlete and then just sputtered out after graduation). Think small steps. If you don't enjoy the activity you probably won't stick with it for very long.

I too have a hard time making myself have a day off once a week, then other times I have to force my self to enter the gym.

I find doing exercise outside of my house keeps me motivated. When I step in the gym, I can't just sit around and do nothing. At home I have no problem looking at the gazelle folded up against the wall. Or intend to put in a workout DVD, only to have the night go on without ever doing it.

I base my exercise on what I feel like doing and how much time I allot myself to do it. I work out in the evening 3-4 days a week and in the mid morning the rest of the time.

I try to alternate "cardio" and "strength" days.
On my cardio days I usually don't do any weight machines and on my strength days I do circuit training or weight machines with my workout.

I have two days that I have a routine of going to the Y. Also, with the help of my sister wanting to go I have added Saturday.I aim for at least an hour and sometimes a little more otherwise I think its a waste of my gas to drive there. I find having the set days keeps me motivated to go.

I've gradually built up from 3 days a week light cardio. I added in some videos and now run, cross train and lift. Now I work out an average of an hour/day 6 days week.

That being said, I'm a firm believer that weight loss is really 80% diet, 20% exercise. Though tough work outs make me less prone to eat poorly.
