I've been a member of MFP for a while and tried failed many times at giving this weight loss thing a real go. This time feels different. I've been OP without much struggle/temptation for about 2 weeks and this week I added in workouts. The problem is that the scale hasn't budged. I went down 2 lbs initially and it's back. So I'm 2 weeks in with 0 lbs lost. It's this kind of thing that i fear will knock me off the wagon.

So I guess the question is - how long should I be OP before I see the scale move?

first dont stress, dont worry about the scale at first , worry about u and how u feel after the work out. i feel tired and satisfied after. then focus on the food what your eating and snacking on try and Make healthy choices . my best freind for a quick craveing fix is sugar free gum. i kno the scale sucks , for me when i feel good thats when im happy the scale can say what ever its looking in the mirror and being happy that will do it seeing the slightest results. i would wait 2 weeks , bust your buns then hop on. jus dont give up , if u fall off the horse jus dust yourself off ,and try again tomm. also if your lifting weights drop the heavy part and do more reps with lighter so u dont build to much. sometimes you replace fat with muscle and dont see results on the scale right away.

=) good luck to you =)

I waited 2 months before I weighed myself and the results were clear-7 pounds! The longer you wait, the more actual weight you'll see come off. It can be frustrating to see your weight jump around due to water weight and other factors if you're weighing frequently. I think I'll wait 2 weeks minimum but aim for weighing once a month
  • Hey! I actually didn't lose so much as an ounce or an inch the first three weeks I was on mfp, then one week I dropped 5 lbs and have been fairly consistent since! Just hang in there, you body needs time to adjust. Besides, one of the benefits is being healthier, not just lighter =-).
