Soda craving lately

6 months ago I gave up regular soda. It was my enemy. I drank at least 5-6 cans a day of regular coca-cola. When starting MFP I switched to diet or zero drinks and in the long run it was the biggest help. Lately I feel like I am depriving my body of sugar and have cravings for a regular soda or sugary drink. The problem is, I feel like if I give in, and let myself have that one regular soda, it will lead into another and another. And that's my fear. I've come so far to lose control. Any suggestions? Should I give into the craving- enjoy a cup of regular coca-cola? Or let it go by? I just don't wanna give in, and then lose control. I'm so lost

I have found that when I am craving a soda that it is actually the carbonation that I am wanting. I started drinking mineral water and it cures my cravings:) You just need to explore different options and find what works for you.0

I actually do not drink pop very often. Like maybe one every few months. I had a huge craving for one yesterday. I bought a can and split it with a co workder. satisfied my craving and I only had half a can!0

I know they have those small cans of soda, like 4 or 5 oz, buy some of those and only drink it when the craving is at its worse. Sometimes we spend more calories trying to find a replacement than just having a small amount of what we want.0

I'm lucky enough to have a husband who doesn't mind sharing drinks. I am afraid of giving in and binging, but I believe my body is telling me it wants something for a reason when I start craving. If you don't have anyone you can share a Coke with, don't feel guilty for buying one, taking a sip or two, and tossing the rest.0

Good thinking pertaining to indulging. I would think about this one. Even though you may not dive into the soda the sugar from the soda may cause you to binge into a whirlwind. I would agree maybe it's the carbonation that you really want which you can find in other drinks sparkling water ect....0

Are you still drinking the zero calorie diet drinks? If so, that's likely the problem. If you're body is used to drinking sweets, it's used to drinking sweets and you'll continue to have the cravings. Switch to water. Initialy you'll really really miss the diet soda. But after a couple months you'll be fine, and after a year you'll think coke is disgusting.
edit: you'll probably have some issues with sugar cravings when you ditch diet soda. Keep fruit handy.0
