After reading this article I'm switching to DIET Coke and only 10 cigs and half a bottle of Jack. It's hard getting healthy!

    ROFL!!!

Hey... Have you ever drank DIET Coke. It's like drinking dirty cabbage water. That alone takes it from dieting to water boarding your throat.

*lmao* That explains why I can't stand diet soda.

Understandably, not shocking that an unhealthy lifestyle is dangerous. BUT, we are all here because WE have an unhealthy lifestyle (in most cases) that we are trying to change. I'm usually not this big of a buzzkill, but I think what we need to realize is that although she may not have made all the right choices when it came to her health, ultimately, there are 8 children that no longer have a mother. That, I believe, is the big picture and deserves a little thought.

I agree with you, it is overall a sad story and we are all here because we have unhealthy habits. But the difference is WE have accepted it and we are CHANGING that. We all have our reasons to get healthy and I know a lot of people here have kids and that is their inspiration to getting in shape. I would think, especially a mother of EIGHT would want to make as many good decisions as possible to see her children grow. Otherwise in my mind it's almost borderline neglect to her children. It doesn't take a health specialist to know that THAT much soda a smoking is unhealthy. Now, if it was an addiction, which I assume it was, the she needed to seek out help. Like I said, sad story and that really sucks for her family, but it had to been seen coming if not by her, her partner and friends.

I can agree with what you say. I just would like to see people having a bit more empathy. Just my opinion.

It's hard to have empathy on such a extreme self destructive course. What people should of had was the common sense to tell this lady she needs help. The most destructive thing in this situation is the fact others just stood by.

As for the jokes, people make light of things, if you can make light of things and learn from it, it's not that bad! This is no worse than Darwin Awards.

I get what you're saying....thanks for not jumping all over me about this! :-) You're right....it would have been much better if someone would have said something to her about the path she was taking. If not for HER sake, than for the childrens' sake.

1000X agree. There are times you shouldn't say anything but this is one of those times families and friends should of said something. Drinking, smoking, and chugging down 2 gallons of soda is extreme and should of been talked to for the children's sake.
