I have been reading a lot about this medication and I have seen a lot of posts about it (on other sites) and noticed that everyone seems to be on a different dosage. Like me... I am supposed to take 10mg a day for 10 days... then I see posts from other people where they say they are supposed to only take it for 5 days or 7 days and some for as long as 14 days. What's up with that? lol. I am honestly curious WHY there are so many different variations in the dosage and what difference it makes....? The reason I want to know is because LAST month I took it for 8 days and NEVER got my period. So I just started taking it again today and I am wondering if taking it for the full 10 days will make my period come or make it take LONGER to get my period....?

Basically what I want to know is this.... does a higher dosage of Provera jump start your period better? Okay... let me word it this way.... Does taking it longer make you bleed sooner or would it be more likely to make you NOT have a period if you take it longer? Like if you only take it for 5 days, are you more likely to start bleeding sooner than someone who takes it for 10 days? Does it even make a difference at all? This is so confusing. My doctor told me to take it for 10 days but I only took it for 8 days last month and never got my period. Could it have been because I didn't take it long enough????

I know someone will tell me to just call my doctor's office and ask them but they are so hard to get a hold of! And every time I talk to a nurse she just gets me more confused than I already was. lol
