Does anyone know if drinking eight glasses of water affects your weight loss? I know I only drink one to two glasses of water per day. yesterday I stayed in my calorie limits ate pretty clean, but when I woke up this morning thirsty as ever, and when I stepped on the scale im up a pound. I think it has to do with salt. so does drinking eight glasses of water help in the weight loss?I have head the reason to why we drink eight glasses of water is to feel full. is that true? Does the water flush salt out of your system? How much water do I need to drink to flush that salt out of my system? What else does water due to your body? How does it help it or not help it? Can anyone please shed some light onto this for me.Thank you for all of your help

drinking water relieves bloating, and yes, helps with salt. It cleans out your system, and gets rid of water weight. It also helps making your tummy think it's full so you don't eat as much!!! Its great for you, i would recommend upping it to 8 glasses a day AT LEAST (:0

From my days in recovery from anorexia (just an example), I was experiencing tremendous water weight issues with re-feeding. But my nutritionist told me that the best way to deal with that is to drink more water. At first I thought she was nuts...drink more water? You would think there would be an even greater degree of bloating. However, believe it or not, drinking 8 glasses of water a day prevented or at least elevated this problem. Plus, it helps cleans the body and helps with the salt intake too.
I have noticed that I weigh more when I have water retention, and that after drinking water consistently I am back to a normal weight. Drinking plenty of water also helps with cravings and curves hunger, I think. That may be just me.0 -

I've read that eight glasses is only a guide. Not everyone needs eight glasses a day. Another guide I've come across is that if your urine is clear you've drunk a sufficient amount of water.0 -

Ha...I know that should be true about the clear urine, but I drink close to a gallon of water a day (if not more) and my urine is sunny yellow and plentiful most of the time! I know that may be TMI, but it is true...I am wondering if it has something to do with the amount of vitamins I am getting in my food? If anyone can shed light on this, I would appreciate your comments!0 -
BobbieLee: you bet that's from your nutrients!! I do the same as you and my urine was always yellow. Once I started drinking a gallon a day and the color didn't change much I called up my mom (nurse/nutritionalist) and she said it was because I eat plenty of nutrients a day, so extra gets flushed out when you urine, resulting in the bright yellow color. So no worries!!0
