I'm thinking of making a slow transition to a completely vegan lifestyle.
I tend to alternate from a carb heavy breakfast to a protein heavy breakfast (eggs/sausage).

Aside from eating Tofu in the AM What are some really good protein heavy vegan options for a hearty breakfast.

Oats and soya milk have quite a lot of protein

I get 17grams of protein from my breakfast

You could always have a protein shake (Hemp)

quinoa with milk and honey. Sounds yummy to me! Quinoa is a grain with the highest protein per gram.

My breakfast after working out is a Vega protein shake. Makes me feel great, but not the cheapest thing. So much more than a protein shake though!

I am finishing up the Daniel Fast (today is my last day...yayyy!!!) and it is pretty much a very strict vegan diet. Over the past 21 days I've absolutely fallen in love with the peanut butter and banana smoothie...delicious!!!! It's just 1 banana, 2tbsp all natural peanut butter (I like crunchy) and 1/2 cup of soy milk (You can substitute whatever kind of milk you prefer). Sometimes I'll even add a couple of strawberries and blend until smooth. You can add honey or sugar if you like, but sweeteners are not allowed on the fast so I never used them...In my opinion, the smoothie is fabulous with no sweeteners anyway.

I also like making a "Tofu Scramble". Its just chopped veggies (whatever you like) and tofu (cut into cubes). Spray a pan with cooking spray, and add all of the ingredients. Cook until the veggies are to your liking (about 15 minutes for me). Season to taste. It's really neat because the tofu kind of crumbles like scrambled eggs and just take in all of the flavor of your veggies. I like to eat it with hot sauce or ketchup.

    Hope this helps :-)

I also like to make tofu scramble with Vegg powder added (it's basically nutritional yeast + some sulfur things to make the tofu taste really like an egg! it's not a weird chemical concoction though) http://thevegg.com/ if you're interested. for the sausages, i second LightLife products...i love their SmartDogs! a little high in sodium for me to eat with abandon, but not high in calories.
