Help please!! confused about certain serving sizes!

Hello every one
Feel free to add me always looking for new motivational friends. BTW I'm on week 3 of turbo fire.
Question. I see on chips/pretzels/snacks it says 1 ounce is 110 cal then says 23 pieces?? Now I weighed aboout ten pieces and it weighed about a ounce?? So I'm confused as to why it says 23 pieces?? Lol. Thabks for the help!

The packages are usually guessed amounts of the item. I always go with the measurement rather than the amount. :flowerforyou:0

^^^^^^it's true...if you have a scale, I would weigh it!!! You can still have the 23 pieces - it's just that you will correctly log what you are eating if you weigh it!!0 -
Go with the weight! I guess the 23 pieces are if they are broken! Yikes, what a difference...0

I just checked my brown rice & it says serving is 1/2 cup but cooked is 1 cup??? So confusing blahh.

always measure things like rice before cooking ,because you stem or boll it of course the weight & consumption will seem to be different0

It's best to weigh rice uncooked. If you can't do that, weigh it cooked. Cups are the devil's measure.

I saw you talk about weight but then you spoke about using cups for rice. I always weigh energy dense foods like rice. A small error in cup measurement means a lot of extra weight. A digital scale can be set to grams and that also helps if you measure down to the nearest 5 grams or even 1 gram.
I know you have postal scales. I don't know your financial circumstances but have you considered getting digital scales? I don't think postal scales do tare (add&weigh). They're one of my most used kitchen tools, not just for calorie counting but also for improved cooking.0
