So hungry, good or bad thing?

My BMR is 1818; My daily calorie goal is set at 1310 based on wanting to lose 2lbs a week (I want to lose about 80 lbs). I find that I am filling up easily but getting hungry quicker and much more often. I realize this is probably a good sign that I've woken up my metabolism, but do you think I need to up my calorie intake or just eat more smaller meals?
A little background, I've had an incredibly difficult time losing weight on WW and think it's because they had me eating too much.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

First and foremost, I am not a nutritionist or health care professional, so anything I say is from my own experience and reading of nutrition books/magazines.
That said, there's a few important variables here, I think. The first is what "hungry" means. There's a difference between feeling starving/tummy rumbling/simply not feeling "full." The Biggest Loser cookbook has a handy scale to decipher hunger signals to help you gauge whether you *need* to eat.
Second, what you're eating makes a HUGE difference. Most sources I've seen (primarily Self, Shape, and Fitness magazines, as well as assorted healthy-eating cookbooks) cite protein and fiber as the best to keep you feeling full. For example, when I have an English muffin with salmon lox (protein in the fish, fiber in the muffin grains, particularly if it's whole wheat), I stay full longer than if I had the equivalent calories in gummy candy or fruit juice. I'd recommend checking out what you're eating and see if picking more filling foods helps.0 -
It's definitely not boredom, which is a poor habit I'd grown accustom to in the past. I try to drink a glass or two of water or seltzer to curb it but my stomach continues to rumble with hunger. I typically keep a well balanced diet. This morning I actually did have lox on a whole wheat bagel thin with 2tbs of cream cheese. For lunch I had 1 cup of chicken with broccoli and I snacked on some pineapple in between. I am so hungry right now, it's to the point where I feel like I haven't eaten all day. I've also had at least 5 cups of water so far. I can deal with the hunger if it means a better outcome but I hear that's not necessarily the case.
Thanks for the input!0
