Polar RS100 heart rate monitor

I've been using this HRM for a couple of weeks and today when I hit start it was calculating my starting heart rate in the 50s and even at the most intense part of my workout it was only reading in the 80s. Normally it starts in the 70s and and gets up in the 150s. Has anyone had a similar issue?

Make sure your strap is wet and tight. It may be coming loose or drying out during your workout and giving you bad readings.0
