Can anyone tell me about the fitbit?

I have heard about it but would like to know more. What exactly is it? Does it track all calories burned throughout the day including exercising? Is it worth the money?

It's a small device you wear throughout the day and it tracks your steps, calories burned, floors climbed, how active you are, and more. Then you can wear it at night on your wrist (it comes with a pouch) and it'll tell you about your sleeping patterns. There's a great website that syncs all the information with MFP so you know you're eating the right calories. I've had mine about a week and love it so far - it's making me more active.

There's a great group here on MFP with lots of information - you should check it out: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/1290-fitbit-users. It helped me setup mine up and get it working with MFP correctly.

Wanted to add - I still wear a HRM during my workouts because the Fitbit doesn't track your heart rate and I feel like I'm burning more calories with my intense workouts, but you can enter the calories here on MFP and it syncs with Fitbit.

I just heard a guy on the radio talking about it and he said it's the best he has tried. you can put in alot of self info and goals and it will tell you what you need and what you have done. Hmm sounds like a momma, sorry i thought that was funny. Heard is was a great buy under $100.00

Oh, I put a period at the end of the sentence but that's not part of the link...

I just ordered one online and can't wait to get it. Right after I bought it I started noticing a lot of other gadgets out there that are similar though, but I think the fitbit combined with my HRM will be the best thing for me until they come out with something that meets all my needs. Some of the others I saw that you might want to look at:

    Schosche myTrek
    Pear Square One
    Jawbone Up
    MOTOACTV
    Bodybugg
    Nike+ stuff
    miCoach stuff

I'm sure I've left out some!
