Grains: Good or Bad?

I've read about people saying they stay away from grains, some people say eat them. What is the difference between "whole grain" foods and "whole wheat" foods? and should we stay away from the grains? I am just recently (the last couple of months) trying to get serious about eating better and exercising, so I am trying to learn about things to eat and not eat. Any help/advice is appreciated

Grains are good for you unless you have allergies or other sensitivities to them. Whole grains are a good source of healthy nutrition including fiber and protein. They are fairly calories dense, so don't eat lots of grain products withoutctaking that into account. Whole wheat is one kind of whole grain, but there are lots of others...like brown rice or millet. Enjoy them!0

There isn't really "good" or "bad" foods. I personally prefer my grains to be white but sometimes eat ezekiel or some type of grain bread if I need more micronutrients, fibre, or want it for a specific taste (i.e. honey oat bread for a BLT).0
