My goal is 1500. If I exercise and log 500 calories, I should eat back those calories (note, I will eat a total of 2000 calories with the net of 1500)0

It's about eating back your EXERCISE calories. You're given a total for the day without exercise and when you log cardio in your diary, you get additional calories and those you should eat back (I try to eat back at least half of mine, usually more).0

If you burn 200 calories exercising, eat something that has 200 calories above what your normal calorie intake would be. If you log your exercise, MFP takes care of it for you. MFP will automatically add the 200 calories to your daily calorie bank.0
