vigorous cardio if it's angry-stress or stress I can do nothing to calm my mind about

the beach if it's stress for which I can work out a problem or if I'm just down. I can't feel anything but happy at the beach. After I leave to go back home, I feel like I've either laughed hard or cried hard, even if I haven't. The beach just has that effect.

I save it all up for Saturday and get rid of it playing Rugby Union. Not many sports or past times where the whole point is to go hard and smash people who are trying to smash you back :-) It hurts sooo goood :explode: Very cathartic.

A long, hot bubble bath. But the minute I get in it I either have my 5 year old banging on, or sticking her fingers under the door along with the cat.
I also love to go for long walks listening to my ipod, by myself!

    Good topic!
    Angry stress - gym
End of day exhaustion/ stress - hot bath, enjoy a nice cup of peppermint tea sitting on my back porch watching the sun set (this used to be a glass of wine but I traded those 100+ calories for 0 and I feel just as relaxed if not more!)

Lift weights, punch random inanimate objects, shout and swear.

Drag racing...Is it weird that drag racing is de-stressing?

Cruising around town, especially through twisties. Or flying down the highway. I went through a devastating breakup that left me constantly thinking about what happened a few years ago. I biked every free moment I had...got up...did what I had to do...and spend all the time until night on bike. I don't think I ever would have been able to cope if it wasn't for this. It's the only time my mind was clear and not worrying and stressing about it.

Fixing up the bike is also a de-stressing moment that gets your mind off everything else. I find focused concentrating tasks really work.

I swear jumping out of planes is quite de-stressing when you're way up high, big problems seem insignificant...Big cows also become aunts.

Hiking around. It's free. You see lots of little creatures (I normally see whales, seals, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, even moose and bears). I was never a fan but since last year I've been really appreciating the beauty

Every now and then a vacation is appreciated. Last vacation I had several wild water mammals visit me while snorkeling. I even got hugged by one! I'm telling you, when you see a several ton wild animal come up to you and hug you and then see it roll over to get it's tummy rubbed...stress turns to amazing beauty and wonder.

No, not hugging my biking gear...but doing things like pilates, yoga, dance to work on my flexability. It's something you can do on your own (another one of those free enjoyable things) that you can work towards and feel accomplished. The same goes for lifting weights, running, etc.
