NSV - First 5k!

I began my fitness journey in January of this year. To date, I've lost 29.4 pounds, and dropped from a 14/16 to an 8/10. All of that is awesome, but today was exhilarating, and it had ZERO to do with that stupid scale!
When I started in January, I could barely run 30 seconds. It was BAD. Today, I participated in my very first 5k! I finished in exactly 40 minutes. It isn't the world's greatest 5k time, but for me, it was a huge victory! I went from a total non-runner to averaging around 13 minute miles. I added endurance I never had before. I beat my goal of finishing in under 45 minutes by a lot! I even survived what was my very first outdoor non-treadmill run!
I'm just really excited!
If I can run, YOU can run!

Congrats girl! When I saw the Charm City Run sign in your picture, I realized you must live relatively close to me! I buy my running shoes from Charm City Run and just got on their mailing list for races. I'm definitely a new runner too, and someday soon I hope to finish a 5K as well!0
