Went out last night for my birthday and had too much to drink...Today is the day I would weigh myself. The scale is showing a 2.6 pound loss. But is this going to be an accurate number?

Prob not - but whether you count it or not is up to you. You could hydrate as normal today and wait until tomorrow - it'll most likely be more accurate then.0

You're likely dehydrated from the alcohol, so don't be surprised if it goes up once you eat and rehydrate yourself today.0

Could be, depends on what you were doing. Were you dancing? Alcohol usually makes me retain water, so I will show a weight gain the next morning, but that's only if I've have it the nite before and just for dinner. If I go out and am moving around a lot or dancing, it works it off so I'll show a weight loss.0

No, you are dehydrated. Get in some good food & hydrate.0

Oh yes... that happened last weekend. BTW, becoming lighter makes you a lightweight0

Alcohol always pulls all the fluid out of my body. I love the scale the next morning! Lol! Drink a lot of water today and weigh again tomorrow.0

LOL I must drink more. I always post a gain after getting drunk. It is accurate NOW, just don't be surprised if it fluctuates next week. It is funny, it bothers us more when something like this happens and we show a loss. If it had been a gain today you probably would have accepted it as a consequence and maybe beat yourself up a little over it.
It is just a number. It is accurate right this minute but will change hourly. Record it and keep going!0 -
Dang...that's kind of what I thought....thanks for the advice!0

dehydration. the end.0

yes its accurate... alcohol dehydrates you. once you replenish your system with water ul gain the weight back.0

^^^^this is very true!!0 -
The theme seems to be beating ourselves up. LOL
You posted a loss, but don't trust it and worry about it.
If you posted a gain, you would be frustrated and mad at yourself.
We set ourselves up to not be happy unless we are perfect. We won't be any time soon.0
