Sure, you can. You wouldn't want a diet made up purely of chocolates and ice cream, but having some doesn't kill you, so long as you're getting all the nutrients you need in a day, and have a reasonable balance of carbs / fat / protein.

there is so many different opinions on this one, i wouldn;t be able to continue if i couldn;t still have my choc and crisps, i just choose lower fat crisps and always check cals on choc bars and tend to pick the lowest one and i normally only have choc once maybe twice a week but try and keep within your goal...

like i say loads of different opinions though..

    good luck hun.x

For me, personally, anything cut off cold-turkey becomes "Temptation Island" and I never stuck with that. Small changes....small lifestyle changes, I should add....that's the ticket :)

I still have my chocolate every now and again and just knowing I can has made this journey that much easier for me. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

Yes, I definitely eat chocolate all the time. Restrictive dieting is almost always present with binge eaters. I'm not a fan of correlational stuff but it's almost hard to ignore.

I eat chocolate on MFP in moderation. If I deprived myself of chocolate, I'd crave it. But since I incorporate it into my eating plan, I enjoy it and don't sweat it.

Only 2x a day, unless it's a day that calls for 3 times. Today is a 3 time day!!
-in my peanut butter smoothie this morning
    -Dark chocolate nature valley squares
    - Don't know what later but it will be chocolate...Maybe just a hot chocolate, but it'll be chocolate all the same ;-)

I definitely do! I could not live without chocolate! The biggest thing I've learned is not to deny myself but moderation. I buy fiber one fudge brownies (90 cal) for my daily chocolate fix...

Most definitely! I love chocolate. I have cut back, but I'm not giving it up.

In theory you can eat anything and lose. In practice, you'll end up thin and unhealthy.

That said, a serving of chocolate won't hurt within your calories. Just pay attention to serving size, most chocolate bars are multiple servings. And if you're gonna go with single servings, look for some really good chocolate and try it out!

Absolutely. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said I eat chocolate every day. I'm always over on my sugars, but I still manage to be under my calories, which is what really counts. Do this, and you'll lose weight.

I eat chocolate almost every day... But it's like 5, maybe 10 grams. I eat loads of kinds of things, rubbish and good food. It's better to include a little of the less healthy stuff, and a study has shown recently that those who regularly eat chocolate tend to have less body fat. I can't remember the exact study but it was Canadian, i think. Could well be absolute nonsense, of course.
But if you can exact self-control, it tends to be better. Those who cut foods completely are more likely to fail. Again, not saying those who ban certain foods are destinednot to meet their goals, just that in large mass studies it's shown they have a lesser success rate and stuff.

I am not as bad as I used to be. I would have chocolate just about every day. Now I have it occasionally. It is not that I feel it is bad for me. I just dont crave it anymore.

When I'm having a major chocolate craving I go for the Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp bar. It's only 110 calories and really does satisfy me. Like someone else said Sugar Free Jello Pudding at 60 calories is a nice treat. I get the no sugar added fudgesicles for 40 calories each.

To me it's all about portion control and moderation here. I try to eat healthy as much as possible and I don't go too crazy when I indulge.

oh yeah! I try my best to hit my protein goal and usually the other macros I track seem to fall into place.

I try to follow the 90% rule - 90% healthy and good for you stuff, 10% whatever you want.

Every day, as long as there is room in the calories that day.

^^^^this. Remember moderation. Someone else mentioned the no sugar fudgesicles (40 calories) & sugar free jello pudding (60 calories) both of these are quite good.
  • I have found the one thing that has saved me a LOT of cals and it has become my heaven.. .Bulk Barn Organic Dark Chocolate Cocoa Nibs they are 60cals for 10g but they are so powerful that you only need 3-4 little nibs (look like chocolate covered ezpresso beans) THEY ARE AMAZING!!!

Chocolate: made with milk (dairy), made from the cocoa bean (bean=vegetable)...how could it be bad for you??

I love chocolate, hence my user name. But I eat it in moderation. Like others have said, if you deprive yourself of something, it makes you want it more. I have a bit every day. It doesn't have to be much, usually a Hershey kiss or three, or something else small. I can't buy a whole bar or it will be gone. Yet I can buy a package of wrapped pieces and I'm safe. It's a mind thing for me.

I'll also pay more for better, high quality chocolate. A small piece of that goes a long way as I savour it. But I make sure to stick to my rule....whatever I do decide to eat, I log it and keep myself honest.

Funny I just mentioned this to hubby at the grocery today. With the Special K protein bars that have chocolate, Fiber One bars that have chocolate, Skinny Cow treats - all scattered about my intake, I don't even miss regular cookies and ice cream. I like the Yoplait Frozen Smoothies Choc/Banana, just like chocolate milkshake. And trust me, I have a horrible sweet tooth and am a chocoholic.

I have a bar of 70% cocoa choc in the cupboard and have a couple of squares whenever i feel the need, I can resist it easily if necessary. i like the fact it's there!
A little of what you fancy does you good! The trick is to stick to the 'little'! ; )

I love this!!!! Dove dark chocolate squares for me! Any diet that says chocolate is forbidden is not the diet for me. I have been buying different deep dark chocolates. I find that just a little fulfills my chocolate cravings!
