I am starting a low carb diet. Can anyone suggest some good ways to up my fiber?

  • I was looking into the same thing today as i'm cutting back on carbs and seem to be constipated! I can suggest pearl barley, oats - (porridge), prunes, figs, vegtables, fruit (Pears, apples and banana), lentils and pulses. :)

Chia seeds. You can get them at more stores now. They are considered a "superfood" for what that matters. Many reported health benefits, including reduced blood pressure and also known for expanding when you drink water so fills your stomach up.

A bit high in calories but almost all carbs are fiber.

Any yup they are the same seeds that grow "hair" on chia pets. :-)

I too am on a low carb diet. I added Milled Flax Seed to my oatmeal in the morning, 2 TBSP. Then when I have my protein shake, I'll add 2 TBLS. to that also. I also have a lot of Broccoli and Baby Spinach. Seems to help a lot.
