This past year, I was ill and a medication put on a lot of weight on me. I was already about 40 lbs over weight but by the time I was off the medication, I was about 100 lbs over weight.

Today, I've started to diet by counting calories. I've read so many diet & nutrition books. I'd tried so many diets in the past which got me to my pre-illness weight. Most recently, I tried the Dr. Berg diet. I did loose 15 lbs in a month. This diet is based on body shape. I just got so bored.

There are so many diets out there and all these diets tell me what to eat. Not to mention that they have cost me more money than in my weekly family budget for food. That's why I've decided to eat as I like and can afford but count calories. Don't get me wrong, I am not a junk food eater. What I have learned about myself during the quest for my ideal weight. Is that I eat pretty healthy, Lots of veggies and fruit, it's the quantity that's my problem. Hense, calorie counting with the help of myfitnesspal is my route to loose the now 85 lbs I need to loose.

Is there anyone out there counting calories to diet?
