how long are you workouts

I recently started running in the mornings. Just short runs lasting 20-26 minutes. This seems to take it out of me in the mornings. I was thinking about adding another workout( circuit training, yoga, etc) in the evening since I'm used to doing 45-60 minute exercises. I was just wondering how long of a workout you aim for or do?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It's not necessarily how long you work out, but how effective you can make your workouts. I can do low intensity cardio workouts that last 1.5-2 hours and burn about 800, or I can do metabolic or circuits that will burn 500 in 25-30 minutes. I would look into weighted circuits or group fitness classes for something different since you'd be doing the cardio in the morning. Best of luck!0

I aim for about an hour. One of my videos I have is about 45-50 minutes with a cool down which is ok, but I aim for no less than an hour.0

I do 2 hours a day..One hour in the morning and then another hour in the afternoon..0

Well I generally run 9-11 miles in the morning which last between 1 hour 3 minutes and 1 hour 20 minutes.0

I never look at the clock when I am working out. I always try to leave the gym with a sense of having done my best, lifted all the weights I could. But I guess that most of my workouts take around 45 minutes and thereof I aim to spend at least half of the time on multi-joint movements, preferably more. I generally don't do cardio, but if I do I try to keep it under 30 minutes, mainly because I find it boring. Unless it's spinning, I sometimes take a spinning class for 45 minutes. I think it is a good idea to add some resistance training to your regimen.0

I generally do workouts that last roughly 30-40 minutes and do several different kinds whether one after the other such as strength then cardio or at different times of the day that can add up to 90 minutes or more. The only workout that goes for longer is when I swim which can last roughly 2 hours.
As someone else said, as long as they're effective to you and what you're aiming for, it doesn't matter how long you do it for. Often times the more intense stuff is better done in short spurts than for long periods of time because you can hurt yourself or just generally make it so that it does less good.0 -
I aim for an hour a day because someone or other said that's good for weight loss =P
Every other day I lift for 1 hour.
Recently messed up my knee, so going to find a cardio substitute for other days...swimming for an hour? doubt it...eek0 -
My routine right now looks like this (I sprained my ankle 2.5weeks ago, so I'm limited with lower body weight training):
Mon: 30min-Back/Triceps, 30min-Cardio
Tues: 30min-Cardio
Wed: 30min-Chest/Biceps, 30min-Cardio
Thur: Rest day
Fri: 30min-Shoulders, 30min-Cardio
Sat: 15min-abs, 30min-Cardio
Sun: 15min-abs, 30min-Cardio
If I have plans that conflict with the above, I keep the weight training and get rid of some of the cardio sessions.0 -
Considering that I feel working out is necessity to healthy living and I have a life I want to live I give myself 30-35 minutes of cardio and about15- 30 minutes of strength training (however long it takes).
Part of why I hated working out to begin with is the time commitment.0 -
No more then 45 minutes. I heard a myth that anything over is not beneficial... Not sure if its true though.0

Gym workouts are approx an hour. 45 min weights and then the 15 mins stretching and a quick 5 min warm up.
PT sessions are half an hour twice a day. Which I work just as hard, if not harder than a gym workout.0 -
Well - most of my "workouts" seem to be riding the bike, and I generally aim for around 2-3 hours pedal-time each ride - averaging riding 3 days from 4. Most of these rides are at "base" level - say 7 from 10 of them - the other 3 would probably be 2x hill climbing intervals and one higher intensity sustained speed work on a flatter route.0

An hour in the morning, 30 minutes to an hour in the evening. Cardio everyday, weight lifting every other day. Heavier cardio on the days I am not lifting (45 - 55 minutes on the elliptical is standard).0

I like to do workouts of about 30-40 minutes at a time (otherwise I get bored). But I also do things like walk the dog, jog with my wife, and take a kung fu class twice a week. So, although my "workouts" are (say) 45 minutes, I average about 1-1/2 to 2 hours of exercise each day.0

I do 40-60 mins of cardio 6 days a week, and weights 3-4 days a week for about 1/2 hour. It's working for me.0

I do cardio for 60 minutes usually 5-6 days a week & then try to do my Wii Tennis or something else to burn calories.. I started out at just 20 minutes & now I crave more.. I just bought a new Biggest loser DVD & It is a holy cow workout... I also try to do a little strength training most days for 15 minutes.. I just started this... Working my way up slowly... Good luck...0

My exercise routine lasts around 25 minutes and burns 270-290 calories each time. When I run I burn about 120 calories a mile @ 10 min/mile average.0

Thanks it's nice hearing everyone's thoughts.
I'll probably do more in the evening. It's nice doing a quick workout before work to get my day started. once i increase my miles i know I'll be running longer0 -
