I've done P90X and think it's more designed for guys I hated it because it was a lot of lifting which I hate! I'd rather do cardio all day than lift weights. That being said I got really good reults and muscle tone. I just ordered Insanity and I am excited to start!

I've done both and I like insanity a lot more. It also seems to go by faster, and I've seen/felt results faster.

I posted this on another thread about this as am just pasting it here - hope it helps answer your question!

I haven't completed either program but have done workouts from P90X and am currently doing a CLX/Insanity hybrid but I used this site to help me decide ultimately - http://www.wikihow.com/Decide-if-P90X-or-Insanity-Is-Better-for-You

The programs are different and will likely produce different results for different people - Insanity is more cardio based and P90X more weight training and the workouts, for the most part, are longer. Insanity you don't need anything more than some space and your body (and lots of water!) and P90X uses dumbbells, chin-up bars, and other equipment.

As far as personality, I really like Shaun T because he makes you push yourself harder, but reminds you to take breaks. Tony is a goofball so makes workouts fun. If nothing else, there's a hybrid of the two: http://www.teambeachbody.com/home/-/image_get_file/aa5b1e72-30fa-4f8e-a990-e2d35a699bc3

I think I'm leaning towards Insanity because I've heard that it is a lot of lifting from quite a few people...I also think I'm going to like that Insanity is only 60 days, so results in 2 months instead of 3 haha :)

I think it all depends on the person really. Im doing insanity now myself. I generally use to run and just lift weights but after an acl surgery just a year ago I no longer had the endurance or motivation that I use to. So I turned to shaun t and Insanity to give me that boost. So far it has worked. A friend of mine did both and he enjoyed them both. Now he does a mix of the two.

I like each program for different aspects they offer.

I like the lower body and upper body that P90X does, and also the yoga. They're great workouts to incorporate with my running, because they're low-impact, and focus on resistance, which is really helpful. The yoga is for days when I just need to take an hour and half to stretch and let my mind chill. Those workouts, though, take at least an hour, for each, so you would have to be willing to devote more time to them.

I also LOVE the plyometrics and cardio that Insanity offers, because they just kick my butt. They're also great for cross-training, since they offer a different workout in addition to running and the resistance that P90X offers. They're overall shorter, and easier to incorporate with less time available.

So I suppose I'm not very helpful, but I just pick and choose workouts that work for me, and mix 'em up.
