Have many guys done this and was it worthwhile? I am thinking of starting it in 3 or 4 weeks time when I am hopefully a bit closer to goal am also doing c25k and will be at week 7 or 8 is this realistic?

You may as well try it! It might improve your running (overall conditioning). Do you run daily? You could do it on your off days.

I have Ripped in 30 (similar to 30 DS, supposedly harder), and it is one of the easier workouts in my rotation. I'm not seriously overweight, nor am I particularly fit. I really like a challenge, and I really like Bob Harper's workouts much better. They are hard, and give me an @ss kicking. Here is the review for his 4 DVD set (available at Bob's website for $20), by a runner: http://welshrunner.blogspot.com/2010/09/bob-harpers-inside-out-method-pure-burn.html

IMO, Jillian's workouts are good for getting you started, but may not scale particularly well.
