Aaawwwwww!! :flowerforyou:
YES!! finally got one :flowerforyou:
:flowerforyou: Here's one more for ya. And you're handsome, too.0 -
I like the word handsome for very few men on this planet. One is my dog, Gunnar, because he is dapper as fukk. Two is my boyfriend, because he's one of the best looking men I've ever seen. He's thin and muscular with amazing features. Handsome is one of the best words I can use to describe him, but, really, it doesn't do him justice.
But, yeah, when uggos get dolled up, I just say, "Hey! You look different!" and smile real big. Because, hey, if you interpret my words as a compliment instead of an observation, it's WIN-WIN!

A well put together person looks good. Period.
Yup! This applies to women too.0 -
Handsome is the word I always get called. It makes me feel like maybe I don't chalk up to "hot" "sexy" etc.
Don't be so hard on yourself man. If I were gay, I'd bone ya.
^^^ What he said!!!

This is a good thing! Calling a man handsome (in my books) means he's a class act! A class act always trumps 'hot' or 'sexy'. Besides, if a person is hot or sexy, they just are...it's just there. People can't fake those two traits without coming off as desperate or downright silly.0 -
I use handsome to compliment male family members when they look nice... because, I think it would sound really wrong if I told them they looked hot or sexy instead. :P0

When I call guys "handsome" it is intended as a really big compliment. In my mind, "handsome" is the male equivalent of "beautiful". For me, "handsome" and "beautiful" is so much more than saying someone looks good physically, I take it as everything about the person is attractive: personality, the way they carry themselves, etc.0

I call guys "pretty" and "beautiful"...
But then they get offended.
I do the same thing! I then have to try to explain to them that I'm not actually telling them they look feminine- I just don't like the word handsome.0 -
Because they don't want to use the term well dressed .0
-
Usually because the guy is very very rediculously good looking thats all they can think of
At the time.0 -

Conversely, it seems weird calling some women "hot" but pretty or similar words seem inapplicable.
Hot profile pic btw.
Oh and only RunningJen ever calls me handsome. But that's because she's so sweet.
Pretty sure she's not the only one to have called you that....
Ok Julie AND Jenn :)0 -

I think the word gets used when someone wants to be very respectful and non judgmental when commenting on how a man looks.
^^This^^ I think women use that too when they don't want to hurt your feelings....0 -
I think "handsome" is a positive word.....said in the right context0

I have a friend who fought in the war in the middle east. He stepped on a landmine. He has lost the majority of his fingers, has a glass eye, and the majority of his skull is made of metal. But when he dresses up, in his military uniform, there is something about him that deifnately makes him handsome. Its the way people hold themself, thier attitude, its not all looks
and no, im not lookign for the pity post either.. just my 2c0 -
Awwww.... Who's handsome???? YOU'RE handsome!!!!0
-
Its meant as an innocent compliment !!0

I'm very old fashioned, (I feel like I should have been this age in the 50's) so I call guys handsome. I just think I don't want guys calling me sexy or hot so I'm not going to call a guy that. I just prefer using the word 'handsome.'0
