Hips and thighs

Hello,
I have been losing weight slowly for a few months now and I'm just waiting for my gym membership to be activated (long waiting list) so that I can properly tone up.
What I would like to know is what the best exercises I can do for my hips and thighs, as they are my real problem areas. I intend on going 5 times a week for an hour a time.
Any tips would be much appreciated! Love this site!
