So it's recommended that you eat 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day. So is that 5 total, like you could eat 3 veggies and 2 fruits? Or 5 of each? And what is considered a serving of fruit? Would an apple be one serving?

I understand it to be about 2 1/2 cups of veggies for 5 servings a day, and 2 cups of fruits for 4 servings a day (so 4-5 servings of each, per day). It's pretty hard for me to get all of these servings in, so I've been making smoothies in the morning with both fruits and veggies.

I love veggies that is easy for me. But I'm not a fruit person. I like bananas that's about it. I want to get a juicer or something to help with fruit.

Eat more vegetables than fruit. Eat a variety of both to get a good mix of nutrients. The more vegetables in your diet, the better.

The USDA food pyramid is a bit flawed. The one form the Harvard School of Public Health is much better (link below).
