Ok, so I am a little confused on how to track my walking. I don't understand all the numbers they have when you go track it into the fitness diary. How would I know how fast or slow I am going?
Any ideas:blushing:

I just time it and think about the speeds on a treadmill (my usual is 2.5 cuz I am a pretty slow relaxed walker) .
but I know girl I need a HRM because that walking one just HAS to be off you know?
how are you today?

This may sound stupid but I got in my car and drove 1/2 mile down the road and then I knew there and back would be 1 mile. I could do that in 20 min, so that averages up to the 2.5 miles per hour. Do you get what I am saying? I am a casual walker but with a little speed. I am hoping to build that up soon. Hope that helps. Oh and also with one of those pedometers 2000 steps is a mile.0

I usually estimate as close as I can and time my walks. So if I walk about a mile in roughly 20 mins then I would log 3 mph. Of course you can still be off because some people burn more calories than others.0

Not stupid at all! I actually did that too  Would drive all over the neighborhood constantly resetting my odometer so I know different routes to give me different distances (I like to mix up my routes... keeps me from getting to bored). I found a great website to track your distance too, works really good on those trails you can't drive on to calculate http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/0 -
calculate the rate based on the distance you walked and the time it took.
do a "test run" to figure it out and then try to use that pace whenever possible.0 -
Thank you all for your suggestions. I feel a little better now. I felt a little silly asking that question but I was kind of lost. LOL:blushing:0
